About

Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Eddie Kirkland, aka Brand New Shadows, started writing music at a young age with pots and pans and a Casio keyboard. Today, along with the help of fellow musicians and friends Elliott Moon and Brad Long, Eddie has birthed a collection of deeply emotional songs gathered over the last two years of life. In the spring of 2009, Brand New Shadows went to work recording some of these songs in an attempt to capture the full extent of the songs’ passion and raw honesty. The result is White Flags, an independent project recorded in living rooms and small studios all across Atlanta. From the light-hearted, piano-rock feel of songs like “Where The Pieces Go” and “Kelly Went To California” to the intense emotion of “I Don’t Blame You” and the haunting “Lay Your Weapons Down,” White Flags is a collection of songs that capture some of life’s most joyful moments and deepest pains.
